Welcome
Hi, I’m Tyler Woods. I’m currently pursuing my degree in Data Analysis, with a strong focus on databases, machine learning, and the intersection of technology with society. My academic work has given me hands-on experience in SQL, Python, R, and other analytical tools, which I enjoy applying to real-world problems.
Professionally, I’ve worked across several fields, from facilities and supply chain management, where I developed systems for tracking and predicting usage, to roles where I combined technical problem-solving with process improvement. These experiences have taught me not only how to manage and analyze data, but also how to communicate complex ideas clearly across different audiences.
Beyond work and school, I have a deep interest in critical theory, philosophy, and linguistics. Thinkers like Wittgenstein, Derrida, Baudrillard, and Debord heavily influence the way I look at the world. I’m especially drawn to how language shapes thought, how systems create meaning, and how technology alters human experience.
When I’m not working with data or reading philosophy, you’ll often find me diving into gaming projects, coding experiments, or studying ancient languages like Koine Greek and Latin. I also enjoy exploring creative outlets such as writing, drumming, and building personal projects that bring together my technical and philosophical interests.
This blog, The Quiet Syntax, is where I bring all of these threads together, sharing what I’m learning, reflecting on ideas, and hopefully connecting with others who are curious about both the technical and the philosophical sides of life.
